Toy Boat

Jacks and Craig played in his "toy boat" over the weekend. When he was tiny, he'd take long naps in his Moses basket. Too bad I didn't record the giggling from the last pic below - Jacks and Craig are in the basket...

Oyster Festival

Sorry this post is so late...we've had our hands full getting rid of the flu bug. My family came up a couple of weeks ago and we all went out to the Oyster Festival...Home of the U.S. Oyster Shucking Championship. Even though it was rainy, dad and I entered the amateur shucking competition.

Happy Halloween!

Jacks is feeling much better now, and he enjoyed his first Halloween.

"Tough Cookie"

That's what the pediatrician said about Jacks today. He had his finger pricked, nose swabbed, and of course the normal poking around the throat, ears, etc. Jacks tested positive for the flu. These pictures are from Sunday - we had a lazy day and he watched some football with Craig. While he smiles for the camera, you can see he is a little off his game. We'll make a post from the Oyster Festival soon!

New Toys??

Jacks has plenty of toys, but he is perfectly content with a plastic cup, a tupperware bowl and a cardboard box...go figure.

New Nap Position

I went up to check on Jacks while he was taking his nap over the weekend and found him like this...It doesn't look very comfortable to me, but he was sound asleep!

Weekend Pics

Jacks has been crawling around exploring the house, so we are having to keep everything up out of his reach (which is only about 1 foot right now). The weather was really great this weekend and Jacks got to play outside some this afternoon.

The County Fair

We took Jacks to his first St. Mary's County Fair today. Along with our neighbors, we decided to have a little fun this year and enter some things in the competitions. Here are some of our results...A picture of Jacks didn't win anything in the photo contest, but we took first prize for our magnolia clipping and our hosta leaf. Joanna's apple dumplings placed third (no picture for that one) but we didn't see first or second...so I think she got third place out of one entry.




We also took a trip through the livestock exhibits. Jacks was pretty interested in the horses, but wasn't a big fan of the cows.
